Healthy Cities, The Built Environment, and Environmental Equity
Our physical environments can significantly impact cancer risk. The Healthy Cities, The Built Environment, and Environmental Equity pillar seeks to understand cancer in a changing environment impacted by climate change. A large focus of this pillar is environmental equity; the research team will work to evaluate the impact of environmental carcinogens that disproportionately impact marginalized communities. We will also address how built environments impact cancer risk across the life course through collaborations with the SPPH Occupational and Environmental Health (OEH) Division and the National Collaborating Centre for Environmental Health (NCCEH).
The Healthy Cities, The Built Environment, and Environmental Equity pillar is led by Dr. Trevor Dummer.
