Occupational Cancer Prevention
Many cancer-causing substances are present in various occupational and workplace settings; researching and implementing preventative measures is key to reducing exposures for large sections of the population, including critical risk groups, such as young workers, women of child-bearing age. Cancer prevention activities are also vital for equity deserving workers, such as those who are precariously employed or defined by lower income. In collaboration with the UBC Partnership for Work, Health and Safety (PWHS), and CAREX Canada, the Occupational Cancer Prevention Pillar will drive expansion in this area.
The Occupational Cancer Prevention pillar is led by Dr. Chris McLeod and Dr. Cheryl Peters.
